Medical Director of the Eastern Florida College Respiratory Program. Dr. Mahindra and his wife Iwona have 2 boys and a girl, and spend all their free time at the kids' soccer games

Rodel Banal MD

Dr. Banal is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in:

He completed internship and residency training at Winthrop University Hospital, New York. He finished fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at University of Rochester Medical Center, New York. He is trained to perform regular and specialized bronchoscopies including endobronchial ultrasound with biopsy of mediastinal lymphadenopathy, and electromagnetic navigational bronchoscopy with biopsy of peripheral pulmonary nodules. He is married to a pediatrician, Mary Rose Barrios-Banal. They have 2 girls and a boy.

Zaki Elmaghraby MD

Dr. Elmaghraby started Independent Lung Associats in 2004. He is well known to most people in Brevard County. He is the Chief of Medicine at Palm Bay Hospital and on multiple boards of the local hospitals. He is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in:

Usman Mazahir MD

Dr. Usman Mazahir is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine.
He completed fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care at Hackensack Meridian Health - Jersey Shore University Medical Center, New Jersey. His training provided him with extensive experience in handling complex cases and performing various procedures.
He is trained to preform mediastinal lymph node biopsies using endobronchial ultrasound and electromagnetic navigational bronchoscopy for biopsy of complex lung nodules. His robust exposure in treating patients during the COVID-19 pandemic leaves him with substantial experience in management of patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome, including the use of extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).

Jorge Guerrero MD

Dr. Guerrero joined Independent Lung Associates in 2018. He is board certified in Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine and Interventional Pulmonology. He is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Association of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology.
Dr. Guerrero’s medical education and training includes world renowned and prestigious universities receiving diplomas in Pulmonary and Critical care medicine from Georgetown University in Washington, DC and Interventional Pulmonology from Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA.
Dr Guerrero has been a co-author in several reputable peer-reviewed scientific publications in premier journals effectively pioneering the current state of the art treatment of patients with adult severe tracheobronchomalacia.

Amber Queen PA-C

Amber graduated with Honors from The University Of Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science Graduated with Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from A.T. Still University in Mesa, AZ
She finished her last round of clinical school rotation training with Dr Elmaghraby in Critical Care, Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at Independent Lung Associates
Amber has been a provider at Independent Lung Associates since 2010
She has a love for medicine, excellent work ethic and strives to be a patient advocate in order to provide the best care to all patients

Natasha Gomes APRN

Natasha started with ILA in 2017. She was recognized by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing for 2 consecutive years in 2005 and 2006 for her outstanding academics when attending Molloy College in New York while studying for her RN-BSN degree. In 2017, Natasha completed her Masters degree with a specialty as a Nurse Practitioner at Chamberlain University. She went on to complete her Doctorate in Nursing practice degree which specializes in executive healthcare leadership and management in 2020. She works with critically ill and Pulmonary patients at several facilities in Brevard county. When Natasha is not working, she loves to spend time with her sons and other family members. She also loves to read, draw and try new recipes at home.

Dr. Jud Lewis

Dr. Jud Lewis is a practicing critical care and pulmonary physician. He grew up in rural southeastern Georgia, before attending the University of Georgia for his undergraduate degree. He then attended medical school and completed an internal medicine residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He practiced for five years in various settings including inpatient medicine, emergency medicine, and urgent care, before completing his training in pulmonary and critical care in Columbia, South Carolina in 2018. Since that time, he has worked within Veterans Affairs hospitals, Prisma Health hospitals in the midlands and upstate South Carolina, and the Northwell and NYCHH systems in New York City.
His interests include teaching both bedside ICU procedures as well as a practical approach to evidence-based medicine. During his off time, he enjoys watching YouTube videos on his Peloton, pretending to exercise.

Angela Dennis APRN

Angie has been working in the medical field since 1998. She began her career as a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in nephrology, working in both inpatient and outpatient settings. During her nursing career, she excelled at providing patient and staff education as well as overall quality improvement.
In 2019, she realized her professional and personal goal of completing her Family Nurse Practitioner Post-Master’s Degree and achieving her certification as an Advanced Practice Register Nurse (APRN).
Angie provided primary care to families in Rockledge and Port St. John before joining Independent Lung Associates in 2023.
